The Concept

ABAD Concepts designs and manufactures electrical connectors and wiring harnesses for engine testing applications in the automotive sector. Each connector has a unique and custom design depending the needs of each customer. ABAD’s connectors are created to perform a high number of cycles without any wear or failure, providing a durable, reliable and profitable connection. ABAD’s connectors are guaranteed for a minimum of 100.000 cycles. The main features of ABAD’s connectors are a machined body and an electrical contact based in load test probes.

Machined Body

The whole body of the connector is manufactured following a high precision CNC machining process. The material ABAD uses for its connectors majorly is Ertalyte® (PET-P). This thermoplastic dimensionally is very stable and its mechanical properties are higher to Acetal or ABS offering also a higher impact resistance. The latch and special parts are machined in aluminum.

ABAD has the last technology in CAD/CAM and has its own machining department in house, offering reduced delivery times even in prototyping applications.

Test Probes

The electrical contact is made using load test probes. It’s a precise and reliable system that offers a wide range of possibilities such as diameters, loads, or head styles.The probes are screw-in into receptacles and they can be removed anytime with an insertion tool. The receptacles are permanents and are installed in the connector body. The wires are soldered into the receptacles.
